If we all know the answer is recruitment, then why is recruitment so hard?
I’ve asked hundreds of travel entrepreneurs the same question. The answers are the same.
“I cannot find anyone … good.” “I don’t have time to recruit because I don’t have time to train.”
When you are going flat out, it can be even more frustrating to try to find people to no avail.
You place ads, and no one responds.
You interview people and they ghost you, never to be heard from again.
So much has changed. New people can’t begin to understand the complexities of this industry.
As challenging as it can be, the alternative of not recruiting has far more serious consequences.

Approximately 25% of experienced advisors departed the industry during Covid times. Some returned, but many did not.
Owners are stepping in and selling more than ever before, at the same time trying to keep their team afloat. It is taking its toll.

In order to solve the recruitment challenge, it is important to shift your perspective.
Recruitment is a strategy, not an event.
What does that mean? It means that recruitment is not a one-time project to find help to carry the load.
Recruitment is a series of steps that must be done consistently and in sequence over an extended period of time to have any impact.
Most of us underestimate the scope of the process and therefore underinvest the time and resources to solve it.
To get the results you seek you must:
Identify your ideal prospects
Plant seeds of opportunity
Water it with problem-solving benefits
Nurture it with hope
… and shine some love upon it consistently.
I truly believe that good people are everywhere. They need to be invited into your opportunity to see if it’s the right time fit for them.
